The Journey

Born on 13th October 1962 in a remote village Kanwarpura of Jaipur district in Rajasthan, he had his initial education in the countryside and later at the Department of Electrical Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi for his Master of Technology in "Integrated Electronics and Circuits" in Jan. 1987. He earned Ph.D. in "Communication Engineering" in May 2000 from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He joined Department of Electrical Engineering at the then Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur (Presently, Malaviya National Institute of Technology) as lecturer in 1987. In Mar. 1993, he was promoted to the post of Reader in Electronics & Communication Engineering and became Professor in October 2006.



He has held various positions before reaching the present position which includes Head, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Dean, Student Affairs, Coordinator, Post Graduate Studies MNIT, Jaipur. He is member of various professional bodies including ISTE, BES (India), IEEE and Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (IETE) where he has worked as Chairman of Jaipur local centre for two years. A part from these, he has served number of universities as member of "Board of Studies". He has been member of "National Board of Accreditation". He is also Chairman of the north west regional council of AICTE.



He has investigated two MHRD sponsored research projects and has conducted/ organized number of Faculty Development Progammes, National & International Conferences in the various areas of Electronics & Communication. He was instrumental in developing interaction with industries as Coordinator under the project IMPACT. He was instrumental in getting the Under Graduate and Post Graduate programs of department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, MNIT accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. He has been actively involoved in research over the last two decades and has six candidates have already completed their Ph.D. degree under his supervision while 3 are working for their doctorate. Besides this, 24 M.Tech. Dissertations in VLSI Design and Communication Engineering have also been supervised. He has published more than 70 research papers in reputed national and international journals and have presented his research work at number of national and international conferences. He has written two text books on Wireless Communication and Antennas and has delivered number of invited talks and key note addresses at reupted institutes including IITs and conferences. His research interests are in the areas of Networking, Microwave Communication, MIMO-OFDM and Error Control Coding.
